Saint James originated in St Pierre de la Martinique in 1765, thanks to the Reverend Father Edmond LEFEBURE, Superior of the Convent of the Brothers of Charity, and alchemist scientist who fashioned a cane brandy called ?Tafia?. In order to facilitate the sale of the production in New England, it was decided in 1765 that this rum would be called Saint James: a strong Anglo-Saxon name and the name of a large prestigious family in the British Kingdom.
In 1882, the trademark was registered along with the famous square bottle designed to be stored rationally in the hold of the vessels, which allowed a reduction in the breakage during major storms. In Sainte Marie, Saint James perpetuates its know-how and its Martinique authenticity by offering exceptional rums regularly medaled in numerous international competitions, making the brand one of the most awarded in Martinique.
Created on 31 OCTOBER 2015, the Groupement Régional de l?Agriculture Biologique (GRAB) of Martinique is a collegiate association governed by the law of 1 July 1901. It was born out of the desire to contribute to the valorization of the local territory in rural areas for the organic sector and to preserve the choice of varieties; to develop the training of organic farming techniques by combining ancestral techniques; to accompany the transmission of organic farms; to set up short and long circuits for the disposal of production; to raise public awareness of the consumption of fresh products and seasons that promote well-being; to promote exchanges and twinning with other rural communities sharing the same vision.
The missions of GRAB Martinique:
Actions:
The French Formula 18 association brings together owners and people who sail on the Formula 18 gage catamarans.
Formula 18:
Formula 18 (or F18) is a class of sports catamarans defined in a "boxing rule". This gage sets eligibility criteria (max/min) such as width, length, weight, surface of the sails, height of the mast and materials to be used... The tonnage certificates of the class are available online at www.f18.fr, allowing everyone to verify that the proposed equipment is in accordance with the description given by the class. This type of quality control certification for the practitioner is carried out by a national network of meters that ensure the certification of new equipment, whether it comes from a construction site or an amateur-built project.
